Loafing Around

I got a letter today informing me that I am the recipient of a tuition scholarship to attend the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference in August! I will also be giving a reading of my poems at the Conference.
My friend Matt Siegel also received a work-study scholarship (waiter) to attend in nonfiction. I plan to fly into NYC and drive up to VT with him.
The poetry faculty for the 2007 Conference include Brigit Pegeen Kelly, Eavan Boland, Michael Collier, James Longenbach, Steve Orlen, Arthur Sze, and Natasha Trethewey.
Needless to say, I'm very excited! Anyone been to BL?

New Tongue

Thanks for all the votes (& for Sarah for apparently stuffing the ballot box!) I'm leaning toward Glossolalia because I (and several other people) feel that's most fitting for my manuscript. Glossolalia, which means "speaking in tongues") is what I am doing: speaking in other people's tongues, whether it is the tongues of the female saints, my sister, my birthmother, or a lover. Glossolalia also has the religious connotation (& many of these poems use religion as a vehicle to talk about other things) as well as a more sensuous interpretation (I have many desirous poems and reference mouth & tongue a bit). Besides, it's such a great word!
